Morgantown, WV (September 5, 2024) – NextGen Federal Systems (NextGen) proudly announces the award of a five-year, $22,058,537, Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract by the Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG). This contract encompasses the delivery of a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Weather Operational Effects (WxOE) Intelligence Application, a software solution designed to enhance WxOE interoperability, security, training, usability, and data management capabilities. The research and development that lead to COTS WxOE Application was funded by multiple Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) investments by the Department of Defense and NextGen investments.
The initial delivery order, valued at $2.9 million, represents the first phase of the larger ID/IQ contract. This contract will cover comprehensive delivery, integration, testing, training, license procurement, and maintenance efforts. The WxOE Intelligence Application enhances the Army’s readiness by providing critical mission-limiting weather impacts and provides insights that are tailored specifically for operational planning and execution. These weather-related operational effects capabilities are provided via a mission planning aid to support military decision-making process (MDMP)’s mission analysis and course of action development for both friendly and threat warfighting capabilities. This application will be instrumental in improving situational awareness, supporting decision-makers, and facilitating mission success.
“NextGen is excited to continue to make contributions to the advancement of U.S. Army intelligence capabilities,” said Jay Reddy, NextGen CEO. “This important initiative underscores our commitment to delivering innovative solutions that bolster the Army’s operational effectiveness and strategic capabilities.”
The WxOE Intelligence Application is the third component of the Intel Apps program, which is crucial to the Army’s modernization efforts. It supports both Multi-Domain Intelligence and Long-Range Precision Fires objectives. This initiative will enable intelligence professionals to maneuver with greater speed, precision, and accuracy.
